# Changing Deviation Charts Types

In order to change the deviation chart types, you have to enter the menu.

For each active deviation chart you can change the chart type in the sub menu. For measure deviation charts you can choose between the following.

### Deviation Chart Types

| Absolute                         | Percent                          | Waterfall                                                                                                                           |
| -------------------------------- | -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| ![](/files/j2TGlv9ucCzvdTS0Q6Hu) | ![](/files/rDUaWKFxfSxb4M3v7CMU) | ![](/files/mlrDtwGDh3PUMg8LECox)                                                                                                    |
| | | The waterfall deviation chart sums up the absolute deviations up in a running totals waterfall chart and displays a sum at the end. |

The scaling factors of both the absolute and waterfall deviation charts are bound to the scaling factor of the base chart. If a deviation value does not fit into the assigned value range of the deviation chart, it will be shown as an outlier.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.innofalls.com/chart-types/changing-deviation-charts-types.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
